About

About me

Thank you for visiting Wingsway Counselling for your mental health needs. It can be a big step to take to reach out for support – I understand – I have both professional and personal experience, so let’s see if I can help.

My qualification is a Diploma in Professional Counselling, fully accredited by the National Counselling Society and I work within their framework – you can find my professional membership profile to the NCS on their website.

I have 6 years experience of client work and 4 of those years working within the complexities of the homeless sector. This meaningful work ignited an even bigger passion to help those in need who really struggle with their mental health, this led me to progress into Trauma informed Psychotherapy.

Through both professional and personal experience, I believe psycho-education (learning about the process as you are going through it), is an important part of therapy to help you understand, cope, and regain day-to-day management of your mental health.

About the therapy and what to expect

Psychotherapeutic Counselling means we will work from both Humanistic and Psychoanalytical theory bases.

Humanistic being person centred and client led ensuring we work at your pace, to help you work through your emotions safely and ethically.

From the Psychoanalysis approach we will bring unconscious patterns, cycles and behaviour into awareness and explore these to help you better understand yourself and your mental health.

Just a few presenting concerns I can help adults with are;

  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Addiction
  • ADHD
  • Trauma (PTSD & Complex PTSD)
  • Abuse
  • Borderline personality disorder (EUPD)
  • Bereavement
  • Self-esteem, & many more

If your concern is not listed here and you’d like to enquire, please use the quick enquiry form under the ‘contact us’ section.

I provide online therapy which can feel less intense, more approachable and has a number of benefits such as confidentiality, accessibility, comfort

Fees

As the cost of living crisis is upon us, paying out to look after our mental health tends to lose priority at a time we probably need it the most. Mindful of this, I am offering a “sliding scale fee” of between £45 & £55 per session based on client needs and affordability, all payment queries will be discussed in the Counselling Agreement explained in the services.
